Yes, our Tibouchina's have been bred for their compact forms suitable for growing in large containers. They will form a nice dome shape that nicely fills a 40cm container.
Although bred for improved cold tolerance compared to other Tibouchina varieties, we do still recommend protection from frost. At a young age, this can certainly cause damage or loss. Like many plants, as they reach a larger size, they can develop better tolerance. However, if frost is a common occurrence, particularly heavy frost, we recommend implementing frost protection until the plant is well established.
